Chico Ray was born in Los Angeles, California in 1981. Early in his life, his father was accused of narcotrafficking by the DEA and the Colombian Narcotics Police. He was sentenced to ten years in prison. Chico lived with his American-born mother and his uncle, who later was falsely accused of pedophile charges and is still under investigation. Chico has always been interested in all types of music. He once said, “Music is one of the best interpretations of life.” In his late teens, Chico taught himself to play the guitar and ran away from home. Throughout his journeys across the southern U.S., he met many influential people and musicians including his good friend Deloream. While Chico maintains the image of a “Mock” musician (a modern increasingly popular genre), he is a peaceful man who believes in reaching out to youth and promoting positive changes.
